Presentation to the Cafe Taino

We finished off our Expedition with a short presentation to the Cafe Taino here at Doulos. The kids gave them their final drafts of their Food Pyramids to hang outside the Cafe, then they each talked about an aspect of health, food, exercise, hygiene, etc.

Terminamos nuestra Expedicion con una presentacion al Cafe Taino aqui en Doulos. Los ninos les dieron sus borradores finales de su Piramide Alimentaria para colgar fuera del Cafe, despues cada uno hablo de un aspecto de la salud, comida, ejercicio, higiene, ect.

Este mes ha sido lleno de muchos examenes porque Miss Lindsay hizo nuestras notas para el semestre pasado y hablo con nuestros papas...pero tambien, hemos hecho muchas actividades divertidas como siempre :). Mira a Eliezer y David usando tiza para dibujar sus cuerpos y colorear.


This month has been full of lots of tests because Miss Lindsay did our grades for last semester and talked to our parents...but also, we've done lots of fun activites like always :). Look at Eliezer and David using sidewalk chalk to draw their bodies and to color.

Estamos aprendiendo del clima en ciencias ahora. Para medir la fuerza del viento, hicimos mangas de aire muy chulas :).

We're learning about weather in science right now. In order to measure the strength of the wind, we made really cool wind socks :).

Happy New Year!

We're back from break and are excited that Miss Lindsay is better and here to teach us. We had fun with Mr. Mark for three weeks while she was sick.

Ya regresamos de nuestra vacacion y estamos emocionados que Miss Lindsay esta mejor y aqui para ensenarnos. Nos divertimos con Mr. Mark por 3 semanas mientras ella estaba enferma.

We have a new student in our class. His name is Jeremy and is very smart, we're excited to get to know him!

UN GRUPO ESPECIAL

Este grupo es dinámico, siempre quieren estar aprendiendo algo nuevo y lo más importante, es que ellos tienen la habilidad de expresar sus sentimientos y compartir sus experiencias personales y siempre están atentos a la corrección amorosa de sus maestros. El tiempo con ellos es muy agradable.

This group is dynamic, they always want to be learning something new, and the most important thing is that they have the ability to express their feelings and share their personal experiences and always be open to the loving correction from their teachers. The time spent with them is very nice.

Idarlenne nos da ejemplo de superación.

Idarlenne es una niña muy especial, ella ha mostrado gran interés en superarse, ella estaba en segundo grado y fue movida a primer grado para aprender a leer. Tenía gran dificultad en memorizar las letras, y cuando por fin lo lograba a los tres días volvía a olvidar. Era muy frustrante ver su gran esfuerzo y después su desilusión. Sentí la necesidad de orar por ella y ahora esta memorizando, !Gracias a Dios!

Idarlenne is a very special girl, she has shown great interest in improving, she was in second grade and was moved to first grade to learn how to read. She had difficulties memorizing letters, and after three days she would always forget them. It was very frustrating to see her effort and after, her disillusionment. I felt the necessity to pray for her and now she memorizing, thanks to God!

We're trying to learn our addition facts FAST, so we're taking 2-minute tests...if we pass all 10 of them, Miss Lindsay takes us to eat ice cream...yum!

Estamos intentando a aprender nuestras sumas RAPIDAMENTE, por eso estamos tomando examenes de dos minutos...si pasemos todo los 10, Miss Lindsay nos llevaramos a comer helado...mmm!
